The Health Spending Journal

The Health Spending Journal is a great way to keep track of your medical spending. It can track these expenses whether made on your HSA account or with another method of payment. It can record expenses from:

  • Your HSA debit card
  • HSA checks
  • Your personal credit cards
  • Manual entries

In addition, you have the option to add an image of a receipt to get a complete picture of your health expense. You can learn more about uploading receipts by clicking here.

If you wish to download/print your Health Spending Journal data and/or receipts, here are the steps:

  • Log into your Tango account (
  • Access the journal entries by clicking on “Record and Review Expenses” on the home page
  • Next click on “Filter Expense List” to select your data range (by calendar year is recommended) and click on “Download Expenses”. Repeat as needed to capture each year the service was used.
